Early Roots: From Young Zezo to a Solo Path
Oristar’s musical journey began with the group Young Zezo, where he honed his skills as both a vocalist and dancer. The band became his training ground, shaping his stage presence and creative confidence. These early lessons laid the foundation for his evolution into a solo artist with a sound entirely his own.
Drawing from Afrobeat, Afropop, Congo Fleva, Amapiano, and contemporary African influences, Oristar has crafted a musical identity that honours his heritage while embracing a global sonic palette.
Building a Global Identity
Stepping into the industry as an independent artist came with obstacles—costly studio sessions, limited promotional support, and the challenge of growing an audience from scratch. Yet Oristar pushed forward, refining his craft and releasing music consistently.
Gradually, his online presence expanded across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Spotify, connecting him with listeners from East Africa to Australia and beyond. Along the way, he has collaborated with emerging talents such as General YoungKido, with more partnerships on the way.
Through every stage, Oristar has remained grounded in his East African roots, letting his culture and personal story shape his artistic evolution.
