Reckless Driving: FRSC Takes Legal Action Against TikToker Peller.
FRSC Orders Prosecution of TikTok Streamer Peller Over Reckless Driving Incident
The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has directed the immediate prosecution of popular TikTok streamer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, following a viral video that showed him livestreaming while driving—an action that reportedly resulted in a road traffic crash. In response to the circulating footage, the FRSC Corps Marshal expressed serious concern over the incident, describing it as a clear violation of traffic laws and a dangerous misuse of the road. His remarks were contained in an official statement released on Monday and signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide.
According to Mohammed, the incident highlights a troubling and growing pattern of reckless road behaviour among certain celebrities, content creators, and social media influencers. He noted that, in their pursuit of online visibility and engagement, some individuals deliberately disregard established traffic regulations, thereby putting their own lives and those of other road users at significant risk.
The FRSC reiterated its commitment to enforcing road safety laws without fear or favour, warning that no individual—regardless of social status or online influence—is above the law. The agency further urged motorists, especially public figures with large followings, to act responsibly and set positive examples that promote safe driving practices across the country.
