The Hidden Dangers of Cultism: Why Many Initiations Turn Deadly.
Cultism remains one of the most dangerous social problems affecting many young people today. While some individuals are lured into these secret groups with promises of brotherhood, protection, and influence, the reality is often far more tragic.
In many cases, weekends—particularly Saturdays—are commonly used by cult groups for initiation activities. During these gatherings, new recruits are subjected to rituals meant to prove loyalty and commitment to the group. However, these initiation processes can sometimes turn violent, leaving many injured or even dead.Several notorious cult groups such as Vikings, Eiye, Aye, KK, Maphite, and Buccaneers have repeatedly been linked to violent clashes, internal disputes, and deadly reprisals. Reports from the past year indicate that members of these groups have lost their lives not only in conflicts with rival cults but also through internal executions carried out by their own members, often referred to as “BKB” (killed by brotherhood).
In some cases, individuals who joined these groups in search of belonging ended up becoming victims of the very organization they pledged loyalty to. Disturbingly, incidents have been recorded where members were killed both locally and abroad due to internal conflicts within the groups.
The dangers associated with cultism go far beyond initiation. A person who joins such a group faces multiple threats: they may die during the initiation process, be targeted by rival cult groups, or even become a victim of betrayal from within their own circle.
Security experts and community leaders continue to warn young people about the severe consequences of cult involvement. Many victims are youths whose futures are cut short due to decisions made under peer pressure or misinformation.
Rejecting cultism is not just a personal decision—it is a step toward building safer communities and protecting the lives of young people. Instead of embracing violence and secrecy, youths are encouraged to pursue education, entrepreneurship, and positive social networks that promote growth and stability.
The message remains clear: cultism offers no real brotherhood—only danger, fear, and the risk of losing one’s life.
Say no to cultism. Choose life, purpose, and a brighter future.
