NDLEA Destroys Cannabis Farm in Cross River, Recovers 119kg of Hemp.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its fight against illicit drug cultivation and trafficking with the destruction of a large cannabis farm in Cross River State.
According to reports, NDLEA operatives raided a cannabis plantation located at Uwet community in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State, where the illegal farm was successfully destroyed.
During the operation, the agency also recovered 119 kilograms of cannabis sativa (hemp), believed to have been processed and prepared for distribution.
The development highlights the NDLEA’s continued commitment to reducing drug production across Nigeria, as well as protecting communities from the harmful effects of drug abuse and trafficking.
Authorities have reiterated that the agency will sustain aggressive enforcement actions against individuals and groups involved in the cultivation and distribution of illegal substances.
This latest operation is expected to serve as a strong warning to drug dealers and cultivators operating within the region and beyond.
